**Trained Dogs for Adoption**
Here is a breakdown of your different options for adopting a dog from us.
Puppy vs. Adult dog :
Of course everyone loves getting a puppy. What they don't love is the messes they make and the amount of dedication and time they require. Adopting an older dog definitely makes things a lot easier at times. Unfortunately sometimes getting an older dog worries people because they don't know the dogs history or if he will be difficult to train etc. What if you could get an adult dog, any age you choose, already trained, socialized, good with kids and/or other animals? No worries, just a short period in the beginning to establish your leadership and bond with the dog. No hassle of early puppy hood. Knowing the dog you get is a stable well manageable dog to suit your lifestyle.
The dog will know all his obedience commands, be housebroken/crate trained, know not to jump on people, bark at unnecessary things, running away, be gentle with your children, be gentle with any other animals you may have, be social with other dogs, the list goes on. Owners will get a 1-3 hour course on managing their new dog, keeping up with training and obedience commands, basically everything you need to have a happy comfortable life with your new dog. You can also contact anytime after for questions, concerns, extra help, and even come back to us with the dog for help if needed at no extra cost.
**Prices will be determined by how much training the dog receives and how much time we have put into that particular dog.
The dogs will go to approved homes only - and the owners must understand just because it is a trained dog doesn't mean they don't have to do anything. You still need to assume pack leadership with your new dog and maintain it throughout its' life. You must be willing to follow directions and training that is shown to you when adopting the dog.
You can also adopt a semi-trained dog:
The dog will be evaluated for temperament so you still know you are getting a safe dog that can fit your lifestyle. Taught very basic commands - some housebreaking/crate training, heel, sit, no and okay. Basic leash manners and some socialization. These dogs are generally well mannered, just haven't gone through all phases of training. Many times this amount of training is enough for a lot of dogs. It would just depend on what you might be looking for in a dog that would require further trainig. This option makes the dogs more affordable but of course does not guarantee you won't need further training later on.
Adopt a puppy:
Don't want an adult dog? How about a trained or semi-trained puppy? I also take in puppies from shelters or accidental litters. If I don't already have some available please send me a request with what you are looking for. Of course you must keep in mind with a puppy that you will still have a lot of reinforcement to do. You can get a puppy to be well behaved but they will always test their limits as they grow. My job is to make sure you know the correct way to raise, train and maintain your puppy.
Contact us for more information, questions or to make a request for a specific dog.
**our dogs are all rescues. Very often from high kill shelters, occasionally from people who could no longer keep their pet.
I try to post pictures when I can. There is a good chance I have other dogs available besides what you see on my page. Please contact!
